Circulation transactions may be complete and include details about both the materials loaned and the individual to whom they are loaned or they may be partial records that only include details about the materials loaned. The latter, partial records are used for collection analysis purposes and have a less restrictive data classification.

- Alma Bibliographic Data
- Encompasses the MARC records describing physical and electronic resources owned or accessible to UW-Madison Campus library users, as well as the Alma record structures that define their relationships to collections and to their physical locations (in Alma-speak, that is libraries, e-collections, portfolios, holdings and items.)
- Acquisitions Data
- Encompasses the financial records that track how the UW-Madison Libraries manages its collections budget. At a high level, the budget data describes how the overall allocation to the campus Libraries is divided into topical funds for individual collection managers and selectors.
- E-resource Proxy Logs
- This data set consists of log events generated by the UW-Madison Libraries e-resource proxy server, presently using the EZProxy software. There are two sets of logs, audit logs and traffic proxy logs. The audit logs represent login events recording when a browser session is permitted to establish a new proxy session either due to the detection of an on-campus IP address or because a user has authenticated against the UW-Madison NetID login service. All post-authorization proxy traffic is then captured in the traffic proxy logs and represents user traffic to licensed electronic databases and content from UW-Madison Libraries e-resource subscriptions.
- Digital Collections Metadata
- Encompasses the descriptive, structural, and administrative metadata describing the locally digitized collections at the UW-Madison Libraries. The digital collections are made available to the public and include digitized texts, metadata records and various multimedia in the form of images, video and audio files.
